Psalm 30
“For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime” (v5). Men and women who know God have the perspective of “a lifetime” – and even more, eternity. David’s psalms describe mourning and weeping (v5, 11), because they are part of life. But we serve the God who knows the future and has proven His love for us, so we trust that no matter what the present looks like, the end will be a “shout of joy” (v5).
Paul affirmed that “the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory” that is to come (Rom 8:18).
