Isaiah 14-15
“Surely, just as I have intended so it has happened, and just as I have planned so it will stand” (14:24). This was God’s word through Isaiah: though the Babylonians and Assyrians were the most powerful empires on earth, they could not stop God’s plan. They could temporarily enslave Israel, but only with God’s permission, and ultimately He would control their destinies. “For the Lord of hosts has planned, and who can frustrate it?” (v27). We can trust that God‘s purposes will always be accomplished.
The One who is above all “thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities” (Colossians 1) has us securely in His hands.
