Esther 7-8
“Even to half the kingdom it shall be done” (7:2). The king was eager to help Queen Esther defeat the Jews’ enemies. As Mordecai said, she may have been in the palace “for such a time as this” (4:14). Throughout the book of Esther, though God’s name is not mentioned, circumstances reveal God’s mighty hand. Esther “happened” to be chosen as Queen, Mordecai “happened” to discover a plot, and the king “happened” to find Mordecai’s good deed in the historical record (ch 6).
God is always at work, before, above and beyond what we imagine (Eph 3:20). We are always within reach of His mighty, loving power.
