March 26: Exodus 29-30

Exodus 29-30

“And I will dwell among the sons of Israel and be their God” (29:45). This was an amazing promise.  Ever since Adam and Eve had destroyed the intimacy of their relationship with the Creator in the garden, God had not “dwelled with” people.  He loved them, but sin made true fellowship impossible.  God made a covenant with Abraham’s descendents to renew that fellowship, based on their willingness to admit their sinfulness and carefully follow the Law and sacrificial system, which pointed toward the Messiah.

Jesus crossed the painful separation between God and humans, and through Him, we have perfect fellowship with the Father.
