Psalm 81

“But I would feed you with the finest of the wheat; and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you” (v16).  This was always God’s promise to Israel:  if you will come to Me for protection and satisfaction, you will find everything you need.  But Israel “did not listen to My voice, and Israel did not obey Me” (v11).  They rejected their Creator, the God of Abraham, believing that they could find support, prosperity, comfort, and happiness somewhere else.  

We were created to live in relationship with God, and when we submit to Him we find “the finest of wheat” and honey waiting for us.
