Mark 9:1-13

“This is My beloved Son, listen to Him!” (v7).  Elijah and Moses were revered figures of the Old Testament, great prophets and teachers of God, and Jesus seemed to be another prophet of the same type.  He called people to righteousness and rebuked sin.  Peter, James and John saw Jesus talking with these long-dead holy men, confirming His status, but then a voice from heaven announced, “This is My beloved Son!”  Jesus could no longer be regarded as another teacher.

We can find good teaching and advice in many places.  We can only find life in Jesus, the crucified and risen Son of God.
