I Corinthians 10:14-33
“Whatever then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (v31). As people from various cultures began following Jesus, the new churches were unsure about which “Law” to follow. How did they know what to eat (or avoid eating) or what festivals to celebrate? Paul taught that “all things are lawful, but not all things are profitable” (v23). Mature Christians knew that all food was “clean”, but they used good judgment, endeavoring to bless others rather than to offend (v23-33).
Strict rules are easier for children to follow. Mature believers understand and follow the heart of the Law – which is love.
