Psalms 26
“Examine me, O Lord, and try me; test my mind and my heart” (v2). The psalmist discovered that there is no intimacy with God or others without truth. If we hide our true selves, we can never be fully known or understood. “I have walked in Thy truth” (v3). When King David sinned, the painful truth led to his healing. He learned not to live in the company of “pretenders” (v4), but to love God’s house (v8).
“I shall walk in my integrity” (v11). Jesus calls us to live in reality: being the same person privately as we are publicly.
