Numbers 15-16

“Depart now from the tents of these wicked men … lest you be swept away by their sin” (16:26).  Moses knew that God would not punish the entire congregation for the sins of one man (v22).  However, God created men and women to live in community, and we have powerful influence over one another.  Kohath, Dathan and Abiram rebelled, and they also incited thousands of others to reject God (v41-50).  Their sins infected the congregation and led to great suffering.

Moses urged people to stay far away from the rebels.  Whom we choose to trust, admire, and follow shapes our lives.
