Psalm 96

“Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day; tell of His glory among the nations” (v2).  God’s salvation is always good news for us and for the nations.  Without Him, men and women exist in a world of darkness: “For all the gods of the peoples are idols” (v5).  We want a better world, but our efforts to achieve happiness are poisoned by sin, and therefore the end is always disappointment and suffering. 

But God is full of “splendor and majesty … strength and beauty” (v6).  The invitation to live in His kingdom as beloved children, through Jesus, is truly good news.
