Mark 14:32-72
“Abba! Father! All things are possible for Thee” (v36). Throughout the gospels, Jesus shows us how to pray. He got up early to talk with His Father before teaching the crowds, and when He faced the cross, He poured out His heart. Two things mark His prayers: total honesty, and total faith. Jesus wasn’t afraid of saying “remove this cup from Me” (v36), because that was the desire of his heart in the moment, and He knew the Father could do anything.
Yet, Jesus had total faith in the Father’s goodness and wisdom, and so “not what I want, but what You want” (v36).
