May 29: Psalm 98

Psalm 98

“Sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done wonderful things” (v1). The psalms remind us of the wonderful things God has already done, and they urge us to recognize and celebrate the things He is doing in the present.  “He has remembered His lovingkindness and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God” (v3).

The stories of the “house of Israel,” from Abraham to Esther and beyond, teach us to recognize God’s same merciful love at work in our lives and throughout “the ends of the earth.”
