May 7: Psalm 93

Psalm 93

“More than the sounds of many waters, than the mighty breakers of the sea, the Lord on high is mighty” (v4).  The psalmist declared that the Lord was not only God of Israel, or God of the Jews, or God of a certain time and place, but the Creator of everything known and unknown.  The most uncontrollable, powerful, majestic created thing on earth – the ocean – lifts up its voice to glorify God (v3).  And as ancient as our earth is, God existed before it: “Thy throne is established of old; Thou art from everlasting” (v2).

“If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Rom 8:31).  We belong to the Creator of the stars, mountains, and oceans, and we have nothing to fear.
