I Corinthians 9

“Run in such a way that you may win” (v24).  The Christian life isn’t about living to please ourselves while avoiding sin.  Having been saved by love, we have a whole new purpose.  Paul said, for example, ministers should normally be supported by God’s people (v7-14), but he sometimes chose differently for the sake of his mission (v15-18).  He was running his race for the ultimate goal – the glory of God and the salvation of others. 

Paul’s life principle was not, “How can I get what I want while not breaking any laws?”, but instead, “How can I best serve Jesus and share His love with others?”
