Psalm 24
“The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it” (v1). This psalm describes the King, “strong and mighty,” entering His kingdom. “Lift up your heads, O gates, and be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in!” (v7). The King is claiming His creation: the earth, and all who live in it. But much of the world is in rebellion against the Creator.
“This is the generation of those who seek Him” (v6). Those who seek Him receive “clean hands” and “righteousness” (v4-5), becoming part of the joyful world that welcomes the King.
