Acts 2:41-47
“And all those who had believed were together, and had all things common; and they began selling their property and possessions, and were sharing them with all …” (v44-45). As men and women called on Jesus’ name, they became part of a new community. This community, devoted to “the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (v42), didn’t look like the rest of the world. They put Jesus’ teachings into practice, and they had “favor with all the people” (v47).
When we declare “Jesus is Lord,” it means that God’s Kingdom is reigning among us, transforming our values, habits, and relationships.
