Hebrews 12-13
“Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe” (12:28). This is the message of Hebrews: through the sacrifice of the Son, we have received citizenship into “the city of the living God” (12:22). This amazing gift is worth everything: every moment of faithful waiting (chapter 11), every persecution or suffering (12:11), every choice to serve others rather than ourselves (13:1).
Choosing citizenship in God’s kingdom is costly, because it means “bearing His reproach” in a world that rejects Him (13:13). But the unshakeable kingdom is worth it.
