November 14: Psalm 133-134

Psalm 133-134

“For there the Lord commanded the blessing – life forever” (133:3).  All humans fear death, and every culture tries to deal with those fears.  Some promise an afterlife of impersonal bliss, others the satisfaction of physical desires, others simply offer relief from suffering.  The biblical view of “life forever” is always communal; God’s people will dwell with Him and each other forever (Rev 21), because sin won’t separate us anymore.  “Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1).

The best of life on earth is a foretaste of life forever: working, resting, and celebrating God’s goodness together.
