Acts 5

“And we are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him” (v32).  Peter and the disciples were filled with the Spirit’s resurrection power; through them, the Life of Jesus was unleashed in the world.  Men and women were saved and healed (v16), lies were exposed (v4), and prisons opened (v19).  The Council member Gamaliel realized that if this “new thing” was from God, “you will not be able to overthrow them” (v39).

Jesus is alive and at work in the world through us, ordinary men and women filled with His Spirit.
