Acts 2
"And everyone kept feeling a sense of awe ..." (v43). The book of Acts records not just what happened, but how people felt during these events. They felt wonder and astonishment. They ate together "with gladness and sincerity of heart" (v46). Thousands were "pierced to the heart" by Peter's words and were spurred on toward repentance and baptism. Jesus' life, death and resurrection made sense (as Peter explained), and believers also felt something new, as new members of God's kingdom.
When the reality of Jesus broke into the lives of these men and women, they responded with all their hearts.
