November 22: Psalm 62

Psalm 62

“My soul, wait in silence for God only, for my hope is in Him” (v5).  The psalmist was besieged with temptations to put his hope and trust in things other than God.  His world was constantly being shaken, like ours, and he was faced with the same possibilities for escape: money, pleasure, idolatry, and false friends.  But the psalmist kept returning to the only sure hope, the only infallible refuge: God Himself.  “My refuge is in God” (v7).

We don’t have to hide our fears, guilt or problems from God.  We can “pour out our hearts” (v8) before Him, and find real comfort and rescue.
