Psalm 138
“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, Thou wilt revive me” (v7). The psalmist had experienced most kinds of trouble: persecution from enemies, family conflict, and the painful fruit of his own sins. But “on the day I called, Thou didst answer me” (v3). The psalmist knew that the Creator “regards the lowly, but the haughty He knows from afar” (v6). Trouble brings us low, but it also reminds us how much we need our God.
Jesus reminded us that trouble is part of life on earth (John 16:33). He never leaves us alone, but “will accomplish what concerns us” (Psalm 138:8).
