I John 1

“What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we beheld and our hands handled … we proclaim to you also” (1:1-3).  John’s experience with Jesus Christ taught him that incarnation is everything: truth must be lived out to be effective.  Just as the Son of God lived among humans, demonstrating holiness and becoming a sacrifice for us, so our own lives must reflect what we say we believe. 

Christianity is more than an idea.  God loved us not in theory, but in flesh and blood, and this is how we are called to love each other.
