November 7: Psalm 131-132

Psalm 131-132

“This is My resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it” (132:14). Zion, or Jerusalem, was a unique place for the people of Israel. After conquering Israel’s enemies and uniting the kingdom, King David yearned to build a temple for God in Jerusalem (v5). Eventually, the gorgeous Temple became the center of worship, and God’s presence was there.

Paul said that all the amazing beauty and holiness of Zion is present wherever God’s people gather. We are “a holy temple in the Lord … a dwelling of God in the Spirit” (Eph 2:21).
