Psalm 59

"For God is my stronghold, the God who shows me lovingkindness" (v17). The psalmist had many things to fear, just as we do. At various times, he was plagued by disloyal friends, violent enemies, and his own weakness in the face of temptation. However, he knew where to run. "Thou hast been my stronghold, and a refuge in the day of my distress" (v16). God was his refuge from every kind of evil or storm.

"But as for me, I shall sing of Thy strength" (v16). Faced with our own vulnerabilities, we can completely rest in God's strength.
