Ezekiel 3-5

“This is Jerusalem; I have set her at the center of the nations … but she has rebelled against My ordinances” (5:5).  Ezekiel predicted the siege of Jerusalem, which was the low point in Israel’s history.  God told Ezekiel to perform several horrible “signs” of warning (one sign was so disgusting that God modified it for Ezekiel, 4:15).  But God’s chosen people, with the best heritage and knowledge on earth, ignored and rejected their Creator.

Having the best knowledge, background, and blessings does not make us holy.  As Israel failed, we all fail, and our only hope is God’s free gift of grace in Jesus Christ.
