Jeremiah 10-14
“The Lord called your name, ‘a green olive tree, beautiful in fruit and form,’ … its branches are worthless” (11:16). God gave Abraham’s descendents a covenant. He called them His “bride,” His children, His fruitful tree, and their land was “the most beautiful inheritance of the nations” (3:19). But this treasure became “worthless” because of sin. Israel’s disobedience ruined the fruitful olive tree.
God sees beyond our sin to the Bride, the fruitful tree, the people He created us to be. Jesus’ sacrifice has made a way for ruined lives to be healed, redeemed, and planted in His vineyard again.
