Psalm 123
“Be gracious to us, O Lord, be gracious to us” (v3). The psalmist compared our position on earth with the helplessness of servants. They were dependent on their masters, at the mercy of their master’s actions and attitudes. But we serve a Master who humbled Himself, suffered, and died to make us part of His family. He recognizes when our souls are troubled (v4), when we are filled with despair, or anxiety, or fear.
God is not a harsh or unpredictable King. When we lift up our eyes to Him (v1), He is always ready to pour out grace, mercy, and love.
