John 14:7-31
“Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me” (v1). Jesus warned His disciples that He was going to die. They were understandably scared; they wanted the Master to continue walking with them, teaching and leading them. Jesus reassured them that when He left, the Father would send “another Helper” (v16-26), the Holy Spirit. Jesus spoke peace into their hearts (v27), telling them that the the loving Presence of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit would be with them always (v23).
“I will not leave you orphans” (v18). Sin causes isolation, but God in His mercy has included us in His family.
