October 19: Hebrews 5-6

Hebrews 5-6

“And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence … that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (6:11-12). The author of Hebrews pointed out that Abraham, “having patiently waited,” saw the fulfillment of God’s promises to him. In the same way, we are to hold onto our faith and trust in God “until the end” (v11).

Our faith may be tested, and we may not receive instant answers, but we can cling to the faithfulness of Jesus, our High Priest, “a hope both sure and steadfast” (v19).
