I Timothy 5-6
“Fight the good fight of faith …” (6:12). Paul urged Timothy to “fight” for the gospel, keeping the focus on love. He warned Timothy not to replace “teaching that accords with godliness” with “quarrels about words” (6:4). Following Jesus isn’t an idea, but a total change of heart that is revealed in how we treat others, beginning with our own families (5:4,16). People who claim to be Christian (and want to share in the community’s resources, 5:9) should have lives marked by love of God and concern for others (6:11).
The more we know Jesus, the more our words and actions will reveal His love.
