John 14
"Let not your heart be troubled ..." (v1). Jesus knew that His disciples would face rejection, persecution, and martyrdom. Even while Jesus lived, they were anxious about the future (v5), because they didn't want to be left alone. Jesus comforted them by explaining that He was "the way, the truth, and the life" (v6) - through Jesus, they had access to the Father's goodness. Jesus would send the Spirit (v17) to comfort and remind them of his teachings.
Through Jesus, we are beloved children of the Father - He is our true home (v2).
