Jeremiah 43-52

“They will go along weeping as they go, and it will be the Lord their God they will seek. They will ask for the way to Zion …” (50:4-5). Jeremiah prophesied that Israel would seek the Lord again. Their own nation was conquered, and eventually Babylon itself would crumble. With no refuge left, God’s people would once again long for Zion and the peace of an everlasting covenant” (v5).

When our private sources of comfort and strength fail, we turn to God. He doesn’t reject us, but leads us to Zion – His Kingdom, the refuge of all who trust in His Son.
