John 15:1-11

"I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing" (v5). Jesus insisted that a relationship with Him was the only way to truly "bear fruit" in His kingdom. Good works done without knowing Christ eventually will be tainted by sin - pride, greed, self-righteousness, corruption. We can only imitate Christ and testify to Him if we truly know Him and His Spirit flows through us.

Jesus' life and death was marked by love. If we abide in Him, our "fruit" will be the same.
