October 24: Psalm 56

Psalm 56

“This I know, that God is for me” (v9).  The psalmist rejoiced because God noticed and cared about his fears. “Thou hast taken account of my wanderings; put my tears in Thy bottle, are they not in Thy book?” (v8).  Our secret fears, regrets, and disappointments are known by the Father.  Further, God has the power to rescue us from the destructive schemes of the enemy: “Thou hast delivered my soul from death, indeed my feet from stumbling” (v13).

Nothing, not even death itself, is stronger than God’s love for us.   “In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid” (v4).
