October 24: Titus 1-3

Titus 1-3

“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness …” (2:11).  Receiving God’s grace is the beginning of a new kind of life.  Jesus “gave Himself for us, that He might … purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds” (v14).  Jesus reconciled us to the Father so that we could live for Him, now and in eternity (2:12).  Elders (1:5) and older believers (ch 2) were expected to model this kind of life.

As God’s grace transforms our lives, we begin to live for His purposes, and we look forward eagerly to His return (2:13;3:4-7).
