October 25: Psalm 128-129

Psalm 128-129

“When you shall eat of the fruit of your hands, you will be happy and it will be well with you” (128:2). This psalm mentions the classic marks of ancient blessing: abundant crops and many children. However, the deeper promise is that those who fear the Lord (v1) will enjoy life’s treasures (“it will be well with you”). Some families have everything they need, yet their relationships are poisoned by resentment, jealousy, and selfishness. They have no peace, despite their prosperity.

God offers us joy and peace beyond our circumstances (Phil 4:7, 11). With Him, we live abundantly in scarcity or plenty.
