October 27: Hebrews 2

Hebrews 2

“But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him” (v8).  We don’t yet see the world as it should be, governed by redeemed humanity under God (v5-8).  But we do see this: that the Son of God “tasted death for everyone” (v9).  We see that Jesus shared our suffering and isn’t ashamed to call us family (v10-11).  He took on our flesh and blood, and was tempted as we are (v18).  He defeated the devil, who had enslaved us through fear of death (v15).

Our salvation has begun, and we can trust that one day “all things” will be made new in Jesus Christ.
