October 28: Ezekiel 36-39

Ezekiel 36-39

“And the nations will know that I am the Lord who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forever” (37:28).  God’s faithfulness to Israel was always connected to His gracious, loving purposes for the whole world.  “I am not doing this for your sake” (36:32), God reminded them, but so that “the nations” will see His ways and glorify Him (36:36).  The story of God’s mercy, His miracles of rescue and provision, and His unchanging love for Israel show us what He is really like.

Israel failed, like all humans.  But God promised to bring life from death (37:11), not just for them, but for the world.
