October 29: Hebrews 11-13

Hebrews 11-13

“And without faith it is impossible to please Him …” (11:6). Faith, “the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” is an essential part of our relationship with God. All the Old Testament saints followed the Creator “as seeing Him who is unseen” (v27). They put their trust in God’s word and promises – even impossible promises, like the promise of a child in old age, or the promise of a settled country to a landless nomad.

Underneath individual hopes and dreams, our faith is rooted in the certainty that, in Christ, we are beloved citizens of God’s unshakeable kingdom (12:28).
