“Let us also go, that we may die with Him” (v16).  Thomas, like the other disciples, didn’t quite understand Jesus’ purpose on earth.  They were learning by following Him, listening to His teaching, and watching things like Lazarus’ resurrection.  What Thomas knew, beyond a doubt, was that he didn’t want to be separated from Jesus.  Jesus was friend, Lord, teacher, Life itself – even before His death and resurrection.  They didn’t follow an idea; they were willing to live and die for a Person.

“I am the resurrection and the life” (v25).  Thomas, Mary and Martha, Lazarus and others followed Jesus and found life.
