Jeremiah 20-24
“Do justice and righteousness, and deliver the one who has been robbed from the power of his oppressor. Also do not mistreat or do violence to the stranger, the orphan, or the widow” (22:3). God said that if Judah followed these commands, He would protect and prosper them. More than a beautiful temple and gorgeous worship, God desired a people of justice and mercy. God wanted the weak, vulnerable, and poor to feel safe among His people.
If we have been transformed by God’s love, we will behave with mercy and kindness toward the most needy, broken people in our society.
