Psalm 53
“Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!” (v6). This ancient cry is echoed today by humans in spiritual darkness, those suffering under oppressive governments, and those drowning in emotional pain. We were meant to be co-creators with God on a beautiful planet, working in harmony with Him and fellowship with one another. Instead, “The fool has said in his heart, there is no God” (v1), and the result is a broken world.
The good news is that salvation has come out of Zion in Jesus Christ. By the miracle of redemption, “abominable injustice” (v1) can be replaced by mercy and peace.
