Isaiah 26-29
“Lord, Thou wilt establish peace for us, since Thou hast performed for us all our works” (26:12). The judgment that Isaiah prophesied for Israel had its roots in the sins of pride and doubt. When enemies threatened, instead of calling out to the One who said “Here is rest” (28:12), they trusted in pagan allies and higher walls. They ignored the God who had created the land they were trying to save (22:11).
When we trust in “the Everlasting Rock” and not ourselves, rest and perfect peace are available – even when danger surround us (26:3-4).
