Jeremiah 30-31
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness” (31:3). Because God’s love is everlasting, He didn’t abandon Israel to their rebellion or exile. He promised to bring them back to their own land, and He promised to make “a new covenant” not just with them, but with all who believe (31:31). This new relationship would surpass the old, “for they shall all know Me, from the least to the greatest” (v34). Instead of stone, God’s ways would be written on their hearts.
God’s everlasting love was fully expressed in Jesus Christ, who established the New Covenant by His blood (Luke 22:20).
