John 2
“This beginning of His signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him” (v11). John’s gospel emphasizes that the disciples (including John himself) saw Jesus in the flesh, watched His life and miracles, and therefore believed in Him. “We beheld His glory” (1:14). They heard His teachings and prophecies, and when He was resurrected, “they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had spoken” (2:22).
The disciples’ faithful testimony introduces us to Jesus. Through the Spirit, we can also know Him personally as we experience His living presence in our lives.
