Psalm 117

“For His lovingkindness is great toward us, and the truth of the Lord is everlasting” (v2).  Many of the psalms were meant to be sung by the congregation of Israel.  This short verse reminds us to praise God together for two reasons:  He is kind to us, and His truth (His words, His character, and His kingdom) is everlasting.  Whatever might be happening in our present lives, these two thoughts orient our minds toward a bigger perspective. 

There is no other firm foundation for living in a dark and chaotic world.  God loves us, and His truth is everlasting.
