Psalm 119:1-96

“Thy hands made me and fashioned me; give me understanding that I may learn Thy commandments” (v73). The Spirit is constantly working to help us, if we ask, to follow God more closely. The psalmist loved God’s law, but he recognized that there were opposing desires in his heart. He cried out to God for increased wisdom and passion to serve Him. “Teach me good discernment and knowledge” (v66).

“Do not let me wander from Thy commandments” (v10). God in Christ, by the Spirit’s life-giving power, can give us a devoted, undivided heart.
