Colossians 1

“For He delivered us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son …” (v13).  These verses are about the actions of God (Father, Son and Spirit) from first to last.  All things were created by and for the Son, and all things hold together in Him (v16-17).  Through Christ, the Father reconciled all things, including us, to Himself.  This is the message we proclaim (v28) – not what we can do for God, but what He did for us.

Though we were sinners, it was the Father’s “good pleasure” to welcome us home through the cross of Jesus Christ (v19-20).
