September 16: Isaiah 40-45

Isaiah 40-45

“Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these stars, the One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name” (40:26). By the Spirit, Isaiah declared that the God who made the stars, “the Everlasting God” (v28), was going to send a very special Servant to earth (ch 42). This Servant would be gentle, yet powerful enough to “bring forth justice” (42:3). He would “open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the dungeon” (v7).

The One who created and named the stars sent His Son (the image of the invisible God, Col 1) to earth, to set us free.
